Over the past decade, there have been some pretty significant advances in the treatment and diagnosis of certain forms of cancer.? There are some forms, however, that seem too difficult to target, too difficult to find effective treatments for.? Brain cancer, a highly virulent form of the disease, is one of those forms that continues to mystify the medical community.? There is no known cure for brain cancer and compounding its dire nature is the failure to make any real advances toward treating this disease over the past couple of decades.? Conventional medicine seems to be at a stand still in combating brain cancer.? Cancer in general has become such a widespread and virulent disease that it leads one to wonder exactly what is it that makes the disease so prevalent in our society.? With brain cancer patients at a loss for conventional medicinal help, more and more, are turning to alternative forms of treatment, particularly dietary choices.? There is evidence that specific foods may help not only to fight brain cancer, but also to aide in its prevention.

Antioxidants have shown to be beneficial to the health of people inflicted with brain cancer.? Specifically, high amounts of foods rich in antioxidants have been beneficial in fighting the spread of the disease.? Some foods rich in antioxidants are fresh fruits and vegetables.? When eaten raw, these foods have led to significant benefits for brain cancer patients.Another alternative form of nutritional treatment is the consumption of Omega-3s, which can be found in fish.? Omega-3s have been shown to aid in the prevention of cancer, to slow the growth of tumors and to help boost the immune system.? This boost in the immune system brought on by properties of Omega-3s helps target and fight cancer cells. Other foods shown to help fight cancer are tomatoes, specifically a component called lycopene, which is present in tomatoes.? Spices and supplements have also been highlighted as beneficial in the fight against this disease. Those items include tea, cinnamon, ginger, soy and garlic. It is true that advances in the treatment and prevention of brain cancer have been slow and the research process has been tedious.? By changing your diet, you can control the fight against this disease in a manner that has the potential to lead to great gains without any of the side effects that conventional medicine can sometimes inflict.
