Can Cell Phones Cause Cancer, The Top Rumors

Cell phones have been part and parcel of our daily lives - in fact, cell phones can be considered to be a very important reason for the type of progress that humanity has achieved - it is only because of the immediate communication that is possible with a cell phone that we are where we are. With the increase in cell phone usage, there were also some naysayers who cooked up some rumors about cell phones and their uses. The top rumors were:

Cancer is caused due to using a cell phone.
Cell phones also cause impotency in men because it heats up the area where it is stored (which was the crotch area)
Cell Phones can also cause heart attacks if they stored in the breast pocket.

It was never clear why these kinds of rumors made their way into the human mindset. Was it just the typical jealousy that the have-nots experienced when the haves used their cell phones, or was it simply the fear of new technology, or better still, was it because of the static interference that the old model cell phones would have on television and computer display screen? Whatever be the reason, it is a fact that many people still think that cell phones cause cancer.

This is a very sad situation, especially when there is no medical or scientific proof which can link any type of cancer or tumor of the body to any type of cell phones. Of course, tests and researches are being carried out in the National Cancer Institute, but that not because it is proven that using a cell phone causes cancer, but because they are trying to find out if the usage of cell phones, which involves the eye, ear, hand and fingertips, has any relation to tumors or cancer of that particular area.

The basic fact is that cell phones emit a type of radio frequency, and the effect of it on the human body is still under study. This radio frequency is a type of radiation, and some kinds of radiation have been known to be traditionally harmful for human bodies. Radio Frequency is a type of electromagnetic radiation, and can be divided into two categories - ionizing and non - ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation is proven harmful to the human body if exposed to in high quantities, but the effect of non ionizing radiation from cell phones has not been confirmed as yet.

However, not all kinds of radiation are harmful to the body. The sunrays that we expose our body to, are also a kind of radiation. Therefore, until and unless the men in the white coats do not tell us not to, the human race can gingerly use the cell phone for their progress
